IMPACT Chandler Scholars (ICS) is primarily a recognition reward program for Chandler Unified School District high school students. IMPACT Chandler Scholars who complete the program by demonstrating academic excellence, exemplary attendance, and a commitment to service in the community over four years of high school often qualify for scholarship and financial aid opportunities their senior year. IMPACT Chandler Scholars are unique in that they are prepared academically to succeed in college while understanding and embracing what it means to be committed and active citizens.
In an effort to increase the value of the IMPACT Chandler Scholars program, while still meeting the needs of our growing school district, the Chandler Education Foundation is utilizing our resources to offer greater rewards and help students in being better prepared for college.
If by April 1st of the student's senior year they have met all three requirements:
3.4 or above GPA
95% Attendance (over all four years)
100 community service hours submitted to CEF
Then, the student will be recognized as an IMPACT Chandler Scholar. The student will receive information regarding the essay they must submit should they want to try for one of our $1,000 scholarships. Scholarship recipients will be chosen from all essays submitted. The number of scholarships awarded depends on the funds raised by CEF that year. For 2014 seniors, we were able to award 60 $1,000 scholarships.
Beginning with the Class of 2015:
In addition to meeting the standard requirements for the ICS program (please see the IMPACT Chandler Scholars Information for Students page), 35 of the student’s community service hours must be completed and submitted to the CEF office prior to the start of their junior year.
A reliable e-mail address for the student and parent/guardian must be provided on the Student Participation Commitment Form.
