MEET THE MUSIC SPECIALISTS
It is a pleasure to be a music specialist here at CTA- Freedom! I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from the University of Southern Maine in 1980. Five years later I received my Master's degree in Music in Vocal Performance Pedagogy from Arizona State University. I have earned Levels I, II, and III in the Orff Method and Level I and II in the Kodaly Method. In addition, I am a member of the adjunct faculty for Rio Salado Community College, teaching music history. My husband and I live in Queen Creek with our two corgis, Winny and Boo. When I am not singing, playing the piano or the guitar, I am training or competing with my youngest corgi in agility. Some of my other favorite things to do are running, hiking, and reading. ![]() Theresa Looker looker.theresa@cusd80.com I am very excited to be starting a full year as the traveling music teacher here at Freedom! Since January 2012 I have been teaching kindergarten and some first grades at Freedom and at 3 other schools in the district. I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelors of Music in Music Education, specializing in choral and general music. This is my first year teaching and I am loving it so far. I come from a big family with 3 sisters and 1 brother and I cantor at a couple churches in the valley as well as sing with the Sonoran Desert Chorale. When I am not teaching, singing or playing the piano, I love to bake fancy cakes, bike ride or hike, spend time with friends and family, and do anything with arts and crafts!
