Welcome to Andersen Elementary School.  My name is Shannon Hannon and I am honored to be the Principal here at Andersen. I have been in education since 1997 and I recently earned my Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.

I am originally from Michigan and that is where I met my husband, Josh.  We are from the same small town, but now call Arizona home.  We have two children, Brady and Gracey, and they are the best part of every day.    I spend a lot of time with my family and together we enjoy watching movies, baking, and playing.  I also enjoy reading, running and time with friends.

My philosophy of what makes a great school is the relationships we build with one another and communication.  We will work very hard to build relationships with each of our students to identify their strengths and needs and to ensure they are learning and progressing each school year. We are committed to providing a positive experience for all students.  I will also work very hard to build relationships with our parents and community as I feel that to make a great school; we need the support of everyone.  I will also ensure that we consistently communicate with our parents and community to share information, events and any note-worthy news

I have a passion for curriculum and instruction and how students learn.  I believe that all students can learn and our challenge is to put the pieces together to determine how that will take place. My heart lies in reading instruction and the importance of this skill in all grade levels and all subjects.  I enjoy learning about it and using what I learn to impact our students.  No matter what grade level our students are in, we are preparing them for their future and I consider that an honor.  We get them for a short time, but the impact we have will be life long.  Continuously improving what we do and focusing on each student is what makes Andersen a great place to be.

Welcome to Andersen Elementary

 Sincerely,
