Dear Frye Families, Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year! I am very excited for the start of the second year as principal of Frye Elementary. The staff is known throughout the district as being passionate and sincere in their work by supporting students in all facets of their learning. I am looking forward to working with each of our Frye families to help your child be successful. Your active support and involvement combined with our best professional efforts will ensure academic success for your child. To introduce myself I thought it may be timely to share with you my professional mission: My mission is to help build a quality teaching and learning community that is responsive to the varied needs of teachers, students and parents. I will promote the achievement of academic, social, and emotional excellence by encouraging personal best in a nurturing and caring environment. I am committed to modeling a passion for life-long learning by pursuing personal and professional growth opportunities so that I may be more effective as a leader, mentor and colleague. I keep my mission statement framed on my desk so I have a daily reminder of my calling as a principal. On a personal note, my husband, Steve and I have two daughters. Our oldest, Beth is married and lives in I truly believe when parents and teachers work together as a team, towards the same goals, every child will succeed. In order to give each child the best opportunity for success, we are committed to making sure our decisions are based on what is right for our students and their learning. If we accept and make the pledge to make education is a top priority, our students will flourish. I also believe the Frye community at large can be successful in this endeavor. There is an old African proverb, which says, “It takes a whole village to raise a child.” While we may not live in a village, this proverb still holds true. Educating our children requires that we all work together---not for single issues, but for our greater good, which is represented in our children. None of our efforts are as good as all our efforts together! I look forward to a very successful year! Welcome back to school!
