Battle of the Books |
Mr. Mitch Blunt
The goal of Battle of the Books is to promote literacy development and teamwork. Battle of the Books is an event co-sponsored by the Chandler Public Library and the elementary schools. Each year, the sponsoring librarians select twelve books. The selections are based on the books’ popularity with children and their contribution to children’s literature. Teams of three (3) fifth or sixth graders read 4 books per quarter and have a competition that tests reading comprehension and the memories of the teammates.
