Welcome to our Alaska Avalanche Team Website!
Parents and students, please take the time to explore our website, as it contains valuable information regarding our teaching philosophy, academic policies, and general student information.
We set high standards for our 8th grade students because it is our job to prepare them for high school.  Our team motto is "student responsibility breeds success."  We believe in teaching students how to fish, and allowing them to make mistakes so they can learn that they ALSO have the ability to fix those mistakes in the future.  We are here to support and teach them along the way, but ultimately, we feel strongly that they are responsible for their academic success.  If a student feels in control of his/her academic destiny, the more successful he/she will be in 8th grade and high school.  We encourage students to be their own self-advocates and speak up when they need help or clarification.
We also realize that education is a collaborative process involving students, teachers, parents, and administration; therefore, we humbly ask that you take into account that every situation has multiple perspectives and "truths."  We look forward to working together as a team to find ways to enable your children to be successful and confident.
Teacher emails are listed below; however, please access the teacher directory on the Santan Website for individual teacher pages.
