Tarwater is a 2009 Arizona A+ School and has achieved the Arizona Department of Education "Excelling School" Ranking since 2004. Our students and staff are committed to academic excellence and high behavioral standards. We work very hard to meet the needs and challenges of our students, and we enjoy a very supportive parent community. It is our vision to not only prepare our students for the secondary level of their educational career, but to develop their discernment and problem-solving skills as well. Our efforts in the area of character development is not based on a program, but a group of character targets that we call "Toro Targets". Those five targets are: Compassion, Courage, Integrity, Respect and Responsibility. We work at integrating those targets into the everyday life and philosophy at Tarwater, not through one specific canned program.

We realize we are a not a perfect school, but we do hold aspirations of being the best school in the state. If you have constructive feedback that can make us better, we want to hear it. I tell parents we might not do everything everyone wants us to do, but we will always listen to what you have to say. It is our desire to be a team when it comes to educating our students!
