Intel has partnered with the Chandler Education Foundation to provide Intel Innovation Grants (IIG) to high school teachers that will serve to strengthen engagement between teaching and learning in the areas of 21st Century technology, S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and Service Learning.
The objective for each IIG is to better prepare students to live, learn, work and serve the public good in a digital, global society. In order to thrive in a digital economy, CUSD students will need digital age progeciencies. The Intel Innovation Grants will serve as one avenue to strengthen the engagement between teaching and learning by embracing 21st century skills such as Digital Age Literacy, Inventive Thinking, Interactive Communication, and Quality, State-of-the Art Results.
The service learning component of each IIG will see students, community members, business leaders and teachers collaborating in as service learning project that provides the participants of the IIG a chance to take part in leaning outside of the traditional learning that takes place within the four wass of the classroom while simutaneously addressing the concerns, needs and hopes of the greater Chandler community.
